Skincare 101!

Skincare 101!

Skincare 101! If your skin is prone to clogging, irritation and acne, look for products that are non comedogenic, healing and hydrating. I always tell my clients to aim for balance within their skincare, and if you are not sure - start small.

“Sometimes starting small is better than not starting at all.” - Vicki Morav

A great rule of thumb is to pick one product in each category, which paves the way for a well balanced skincare routine.

Cleanser: Aim for light, milky cleansers since they protect the oils of the skin which are beneficial and anti-aging. A go to would be Biologique Recherche Lait U. It’s a super light milky cleanser that everyone can use.

Toner: Make sure there is no, or very little alcoholic content. I like acid blends, but if your skin is reactive, a great pick would be Forlle’d Peeling Lotion which is rich in hyaluronic acid and Lactic acid. Even the most reactive skin will be able to handle.

Serum: Go for the one serum that will take care of your most immediate skin concern. You can always build it up to treating other concerns. For acne prone skin, Biologique Recherche Serum Iribiol is a must. Treats your spots and prevents future brake outs. For sensitive and reactive skin, Biologique Recherche Serum Placenta heals, soothes and calms the skin instantly. For dehydrated and dry skin, Valmont’s Hydra 3 Regenetic works like magic. Rich in fatty acid and DNA, this blast of hydration will satisfy your skin’s thirst.

Face cream: It’s probably one of the most important step of your skincare. Pick creams that don’t have any petroleum jelly, too much lipids and don’t contain any SPF. Other factors that play a big role as well are climate, age, environment and more importantly - your skin concern. For reactive, sensitive and acne prone skin, Biologique Recherche Creme Placenta can tackle both. For hydration, I would turn to creams that contain hyaluronic acid such as Forlle’d Nourishing Cleam. Its low molecular Hyaluronic Acid will hydrate the skin from within.

Mask: There are two masks that everyone should have RIGHT NOW! Biologique Recherche Masque Vivant, which can be mixed with a pinch of baking soda for someone that has acne prone and congested skin. One companion that should always be by its side is Biologique Recherche Masque VIP O2. It’s great for someone that has dry skin, sensitive, reactive and lacking oxygenation. If you want to see what this duo can do, you can mix them together or multimask by applying Masque Vivant on the t-zone and Masque VIP O2 everywhere else. Masque VIP O2 is safe to be used even on the eye area as it is one of the safest masks out there!
